Hey there! I’m Bobbie-Jo the creator of BJ’s Unique Designs. I have a love of all things crafty. My mother always encouraged me and my sisters to use just about anything to create something with our hands. From all the different mediums we had available, I was particularly drawn to yarn and fabric. With the encouragement of my aunt I learned to proficiently use the sewing machine. She also taught me how to knit. My sister taught me to crochet. I could go on and on about all the different family members that helped me learn how to craft something out of nothing, but then this would turn into a novel. These creative women in my family have taught me to to see the world in a beautiful way.
I have been a seamstress for 15 years. I’ve worked on everything from upholstery, to clothing alterations, and all sorts of backpacks and bags. An interesting time of my career was the year I got to learn how to fix and repair Bunker Gear (Fireman’s clothing).
Knitting and Crotchet fill my time on those cold winter days. It’s this time of year that I get the urge to make a plethora of hats, scarves, slippers and socks.
Digital art is new to me. It started as a need for graphics for a church I attended at the time. From there it became an easy, no mess, way to draw things that came to my mind. I don’t really have a set style yet. So those who choose to follow my work are welcome to follow my creative journey.
